இலங்கையின் பல பகுதிகளில் கடும் மழை 

வங்காள விரிகுடாவில் இலங்கைக்கு தென்கிழக்கு பகுதியில் தாழமுக்கம் ஒன்று உருவாகியுள்ளது என வளிமண்டலவியல் திணைக்களம் அறிவித்துள்ளது.

இதனால் இன்று (15.12.2023) முதல் வடக்கு மற்றும் கிழக்கு மாகாணத்தின் பல பகுதிகளுக்கும்  கனமழை பெய்யும் வாய்ப்புள்ளது என வளிமண்டலவியல் திணைக்களம் தெரிவித்தள்ளது.

மேலும் காற்றுச் சுழற்சியானது வடக்கு மற்றும் வடமேற்கு திசை நோக்கி நகரும் வாய்ப்புள்ளதாகவும் இதன் நகர்வுப் பாதை தொடர்பில் எதிர்வரும் 16ஆம் திகதிக்குப் பின்னரே உறுதியாகக் கூற முடியும் எனவும் வளிமண்டலவியல் திணைக்களம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

இந்தக் காற்றுச் சுழற்சி காரணமாக வடக்கு மற்றும் கிழக்கு மாகாணங்கள் உட்பட்ட நாட்டின் பல பகுதிகளில் கனமழை பொழியும் வாய்ப்புள்ளதாக தெரிவிக்கப்படுகின்றது.

மேலும், கடும் மழை காரணமாக வடக்கு மற்றும் கிழக்கு மாகாணங்களின் தாழ்நிலப் பகுதிகளில் வெள்ள அனர்த்தத்துக்கான வாய்ப்புக்கள் உள்ளதாகவும் குறிப்பாக யாழ்ப்பாணம், முல்லைத்தீவு, கிளிநொச்சி, மன்னார், வவுனியா, திருகோணமலை, மட்டக்களப்பு மற்றும் அம்பாறை மாவட்டங்களின் பெரும்பாலான பகுதிகளில் வெள்ளப்பெருக்கு மற்றும் பெரும் மழைக்கு வாய்ப்புள்ளதாகவும் வளிமண்டலவியல் திணைக்களம் கூறியுள்ளது.

மேலும் இம்மழையுடனான காலநிலை இன்று (15) முதல் எதிர்வரும் 22ஆம் திகதி வரை தொடர்வதற்கான வாய்ப்புள்ளது எனவும் வளிமண்டலவியல் திணைக்களம் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது.

Heavy rain in many parts of Sri Lanka

The Department of Meteorology has announced that a depression has formed in the Bay of Bengal southeast of Sri Lanka.

Due to this, heavy rain is likely to occur in many parts of the Northern and Eastern Provinces from today (15.12.2023), the Department of Meteorology has informed.

The Department of Meteorology has stated that the wind circulation is likely to move towards the north and north-west direction and it can be said with certainty about its movement path only after the 16th.

Due to this wind circulation, it is reported that heavy rain is likely to fall in many parts of the country including Northern and Eastern Provinces.

Also, due to heavy rain, there is a possibility of flood disaster in the low-lying areas of Northern and Eastern Provinces and especially Jaffna, Mullaithivu, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Vavuniya, Trincomalee, Batticaloa and Amparai districts are likely to experience flooding and heavy rain.

And the weather with this rain is likely to continue from today (15) to the next 22, the Department of Meteorology has mentioned.
