Wolfe's Neck Center for Agriculture & Environment is on a mission to transform our relationship with agriculture and food for a healthier planet.
Located on more than 600 acres of preserved coastal landscape in Freeport, Maine, Wolfe’s Neck Center uses its setting to connect people of all ages with the food they eat and where it comes from.
Featuring a demonstration farm, award-winning oceanfront campground, wooded trails, and historic buildings, our vibrant campus serves as a unique center for education and exploration.
As a non-profit organization, Wolfe’s Neck Center draws on a rich history of innovation and experimentation to continue the legacy of this place today. Through regenerative agriculture, innovative soil health research and visitor interactions, soil is now being used as an educational resource to create a healthier planet for all.
Formerly known as Recompence Shore Campground, our campground has been a favorite retreat for many families for over fifty years. Although ownership has not changed, we recently updated the name to reflect that our camp is an important part of a non-profit organization and all proceeds from camp fees support our mission.
We hope to inspire active participation in a healthier food system and build a community of people who care deeply about the future of food.
A sustainable coastal farm for nearly sixty years, Wolfe’s Neck Center is home to an oceanfront campground, leading demonstration farm, and educational resource center for innovative practices in regenerative agriculture.
